Lord krishna’s birth
Lord Krishna was born in the holy town of Mathura to Vasudev
and Devaki. His uncle Kansa had been informed by magical powers
that his sisters 8th son will kill him. After having killed 7
of devaki’s children Kansa was ready to kill Lord Krishna
during his birth. Vasudev was advised to take the Lord to Vrindavan
and exchange him for another baby there. Magically when Krishna
was born all the guards of the prison fell asleep and all the
gates of the prison opened to take Vasudev with baby Krishna to
Vrindavan. He took him through the river Yamuna and placed him
in the bed of Yasodara and took her baby girl with him.
Krishna’s encounter with Putana
Kamsa appointed demon Putana to kill Lord Krishna. The demon
took the form of a beautiful lady and filled her nipples with
poison. She reached thus to Yashodara’s house and took the
baby Krishna to feed him. But unfortunately the baby sucked out
blood from her body and killd her.
Krishna’s encounter with Agarsura
Krishna was playing along with his other friends by a river side.
Just then their ball fell into a nearby lake. Krishna decided
to dive in and fetch the ball. Here in the lake he was attached
by demon Agarsura who was in the form of a snake. But Krishna
fought him bravely and kept getting bigger and bigger and killed
him.
Krishna lifts Goverdhan
Lord Indra was worshipped by the people of Vrindavan
to give them good rainfall. On day Krishna told his father Nanda
to offer sacrifice to Goverdhan hills for the same. Lord Indra
got very angry at this and he bestowed heavy rainfall on Vrindavan.
All the people got scared and asked Krishna for help. Miraculously
Krishna lifted Goverdhan with one finger and used it as an umbrella
to save the people of Vrindavan. Lord Indra realized his mistake
and apologized for the same.
Killing of Kansa
Kansa was informed by Narad muni that Krishna was his sister
Devaki’s 8th son and he was told about the incident that
happened when Krishna was born. Kansa got angry at this and sent
his sister and brother-in-law to jail. He called Krishna and Balram
to fight a battle in Mathura. So did Krishna and Balram. They
fought Kansa’s demon and effortlessly won against them.
Krishna then attached Kansa and killed him.
